The United States of Europe?

I think this is a very important idea. The European Union can go nowhere but down and out with its present problems unless it becomes more like the United States with a strong central government with States rights. All the work that the individual nations have done so far to join strongly together will be for naught unless there is a Central Government with real authority and where nations within the European Union become more like the individual United States like California, Washington, Oregon etc. Only with a form of government like this can the European Union survive ALL threats to themselves both individually and collectively both from within and from without.
