70 degrees on the Northern California Coast

This is one of the most unusual of first weeks for the year on the Northern California coast. I think it is the jet stream heading south down the coast of California and pushing the Pineapple Express weather conditions that bring most of the tropical rainstorms to California further south to Baja California, Arizona Northern Texas and points east. Also, our northern storms that bring our snow to the southern Cascades and Sierras and Trinity Alps aren't coming either so far. So, unless it is man made snow in California there pretty much isn't any. But walking with my son along with our dogs in the Coastal Forests was pretty unbelievable for me to be in 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the first week of January of ANY year. Normal conditions would be temperatures of 60 degrees on down to about 45 or lower during the highs for the  day and low fog, some sun, wind, rain and hail. That would be in a normal year. But this isn't a normal year so far at all. If your weather is as strange as ours then you know what I'm talking about. However, for now, it is wonderful to pretend I am living further south on the coast like Santa Barbara or San Diego.
