I think if you see it like the title suggests you get where the money is coming from for ISIL. It is coming mostly from rich Sunni Oil heirs in Sunni Countries that are beyond upset by what has been and is still being done to the Sunnis in Syria ongoing (all 9 million of them left). So, the level of rage is so extreme even one of the Iranian leaders mentioned that the Sunnis needed to watch out for exactly what we are witnessing now in Iraq.
The Iranian leader said something like, "This ISIL could destroy both Iran and Saudi ARabia and all Sunni nations if left unchecked." With over 400 million dollars from Mosul banks and with almost unlimited weapons and missiles left behind, at the very least planes shouldn't be flying over ISIL's territory without expecting to be shot down by missiles.
However, I agree with the Iranian leader that now both the IRanian Government and the Saudi ARabian Government could fall from the fighters of ISIL within the next 2 to 5 years because of the speed of how this thing is moving right now. Sunni fighters are now going to flock to ISIL to try to defeat all Shias within the next 2 to 5 years. In regard to numbers alone the Sunnis would win. However, the real test is what does the rest of the civilized world want like Europe, the U.S. , Russia and China and the rest of the world? The whole middle east is now a Cold War type of Proxy war and inside that a sectarian war. It is a nightmare for anyone who drives a car or gas or diesel powered vehicle anywhere on earth as long as this goes on as the prices keep going up.
Later: And the countries most likely to financially benefit from this war in the short run are Iran and Saudi Arabia. In the long run all countries that have oil resources like Russia, the U.S. and other oil rich countries will benefit as gas and diesel prices skyrocket worldwide. Who won't benefit and will be extremely hurt by this is all developed countries that need gas and diesel to run their economies.
Starvation will be rampant in nations whose infrastructure totally runs on gas and diesel and natural gas now. These countries will be completely devastated by why comes next unless they move to solar and wind power very quickly now.
The countries that do best in the coming oil crisis will be solar, wind, geothermal, wave power, and hydrogen fuel cell technology driven.
Countries that haven't gone strongly in alternate power sources will be devastated as ISIL disrupts worldwide oil from now until ISIL is done away with (if ever).
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
