3% completely recovered
31% conditions have stabilized
27% still in a downturn
These statistics are quoted from CNN from "Wolf" on Friday June 6th.
I think the best way to look at these statistics is this is the direct experience of these people in their everyday lives. They only live where they live. So, by these statistics I would surmise what is being said here is their experience financially living in the U.S. is worse than their 2006 experience. I think you could say that 97% feel things are worse than they were in 2006. However, I think you also could say that 73% think that the U.S. economy has either stabilized or is getting better or is recovered.
I used to design questionnaires for social science experiments at my college and use the program SPSS for processing data from questionnaires from people regarding different issues local and national for my college. Many of the A or B students in the classes participated in these studies on behalf of our college research. One of the funnier aspects of doing this was finding out that a lot of the registered students there were dead. Since this was a community college I realized this was likely how many community colleges around the country keep well funded. We presented our Research at the University of Santa Clara at a convention of Social Science Research classes from all over California.
