I was thinking today it would be a nice design in a smart phone so you didn't have to turn on your data to receive photos or send photos or other information. What if your data was automatically set to off as it's default place but it automatically went on when you sent or received photos into your text space?
This way you aren't burning your leg or wherever you keep your smart phone and you aren't wasting Bandwidth having that on. So, it would automatically turn on in certain applications and automatically turn off when not being used and the same for your WIFI and Bluetooth. So, that you were not being exposed to things you don't want to and it would be much harder for hackers to ever hack your phone also.
I think the main reason this hasn't been done so far is because telecommunications companies can make money whenever you forget to turn your data off for hours or days. However, I think as time moves on and data isn't a separate charge as much (at least below some arbitrary amount) that it might be in the interests of the telecommunications companies as well as customers to do this.
So, I think this will come in time and be a selling point for those companies that allow this to happen.
Note:
Also, what I personally do to protect myself from "Brain burn" or leg burn (when carrying it in my pocket) is to use my speaker on the phone and hold it away from me when listening whenever possible. Sometimes I have to bring it up closer to my mouth when talking to people if they can't hear me in some situations but mostly I do this to protect my brain from my cell phone radiation. Another thing that is nice in this respect is I always take my phone out of my pocket when in a car and set it usually in the center console or on the dashboard or something like this to get it away from me. This also protects me better from any cell phone radiation. Also, all three of our vehicles now except my older motor home have hands free speakers so this is a nice feature too. You just have to have your blue tooth on and have your phone synced with the car to use this feature. Another thing I do is to put my wallet in my pocket underneath my cell phone to protect my flesh in my leg from burning. Many people get burns on their legs from wearing their cell phones too close to their bodies. If you read manuals from cell phone manufacturers they will tell you that they are not designed to be worn closer than 1/2 inch away from a human body unless you want to experience burns or pain on your flesh over time.
Another thing I do is I never wear my smart phone or cell phone over my heart because I don't want to damage my heart muscle. When I see people especially men who wear their phones in their jacket pocket this way I sort of cringe. But, maybe they would rather destroy their hearts than their family jewels which is closer to where most people wear their cell phones?
Everyone must figure out their own way forward. After all, natural selection governs all our lives.
What we eat and what we do governs how long we live. Natural selection.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
