Rolling Stones Lash Out at Donald Trump (Again) Over Song Use
Mick Jagger and company really didn’t want “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” played at the RNC
The Rolling Stones have told Donald Trump and told him twice,
but they just can’t get no satisfaction from the GOP presidential
nominee.Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and company have once again taken Trump to task for playing their music without permission, this time for the use of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” during the Republican National Convention on Thursday.
The group issued a statement on Friday stating in no uncertain terms that they are not fans of Trump, and they don’t appreciate being included on his campaign playlist.
“The Rolling Stones do not endorse Donald Trump. You Can’t Always Get What You Want was used without the band’s permission,” the group said on Twitter.

“The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign
to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use
immediately,” a spokesman for the band said at the time.A growing chorus of musicians — including Adele, Queen’s Brian May and Aerosmith yowler Steven Tyler — have complained about Trump using their music in his bid for the White House.
On Thursday, after “Here Comes the Sun” was played as Ivanka Trump took the stage at the convention, the estate of composer George Harrison tore into Trump, tweeting, “The unauthorized use of #HereComestheSun at the #RNCinCLE is offensive & against the wishes of the George Harrison estate … If it had been Beware of Darkness, then we MAY have approved it!”
Maybe the Stones would have been OK with things if Trump had used “Sympathy for the Devil.”
