Donald Trump now going after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; says she should step down ‘as soon as possible’ for criticizing him
Donald Trump is now publicly attacking Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, saying she should leave the bench “as soon as possible” after she slammed his White House bid in interviews.
It’s the first time Trump has targeted a sitting Supreme Court justice — and his remarks come just weeks after he railed against a California federal judge.
Ginsburg fired the first shots when she spoke to The New York Times for a Sunday story, and minced no words about the presumptive GOP nominee.

“I can’t imagine what this place would be — I can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president,” Ginsburg said.
“For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.”
Ginsburg, 83, only stepped up her anger the next day in an interview with biographer Joan Biskupic, which CNN published Tuesday.
Criticism grows over Trump’s comments about judge
"He is a faker," Ginsburg said.
"He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment."
She also accused the media of being "gentle" with Trump over his continued refusal to release his tax returns, even though Democratic contenders Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders did so.
Ginsburg didn't seem worried about Trump winning the White House. When asked what the next president will do with the Supreme Court, Ginsburg replied, "She is bound to have a few appointments in her term."
Sitting Supreme Court justices rarely grant interviews, let alone about presidential candidates.
But her remarks sparked something even rarer: A presumptive presidential nominee insulting a Supreme Court justice.
Trump took to The Times himself Tuesday to fire back at Ginsburg, who is among the most left-leaning justices.
“I think it’s highly inappropriate that a United States Supreme Court judge gets involved in a political campaign, frankly,” the billionaire bully said.
He added that her attack “only energizes my base even more,” and that he hopes “she would get off the court as soon as possible.”
Trump has never before lashed out on anyone sitting on the Supreme Court, though he joined the rest of the GOP in opposing Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland for the seat left vacant by Justice Antonin Scalia’s death.
However, Trump has obsessively scorned Federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing two lawsuits over Trump University. Trump said Curiel should recuse himself from the case and accused him of bias because he is “Mexican,” even though the Hispanic judge was born in Indiana.
Trump’s anti-Curiel campaign drew rebukes from even the businessman's biggest supporters, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, who called Trump’s comments “the textbook definition of racism.”
