It is predicted by the National climate assessment that it is extremely likely weather will get worse

assessment:

1. Extreme heat waves will become much more common

2. More heavy rain events

3. More frequent coastal Flooding

They are looking at extreme weather events. These are the things that impact people on the ground that impact our society where we are so vulnerable.

Twice as many record extreme heat events and extreme cold events so far this century when we look across a large number of weather stations

we already have moved up 1 degree Fahrenheit on average from the 20th century.

Some coastal cities are seeing 5 times as much coastal flooding as two generations ago just with something on the order of 1 foot of sea level rise.

Surprises, Tipping points, compounding effects that could lead to outcomes that are even worse than what climate models are telling us.

If we reduce emissions we reduce the chance of these compounding effects that could cause major losses of life.

This is a report out of about 30 agencies of the U.S. Government.
