Spiritual knowledge and freedom
Anthroposophical proponents aim to extend the clarity of the
scientific method
to phenomena of human soul-life and to spiritual experiences. This
requires developing new faculties of objective spiritual perception,
which Steiner maintained was possible for humanity today. The steps of
this process of inner development he identified as consciously achieved
imagination,
inspiration and
intuition.
[6]
Steiner believed results of this form of spiritual research should be
expressed in a way that can be understood and evaluated on the same
basis as the results of natural science:
[4]
"The anthroposophical schooling of thinking leads to the development of
a non-sensory, or so-called supersensory consciousness, whereby the
spiritual researcher brings the experiences of this realm into ideas,
concepts, and expressive language in a form which people can understand
who do not yet have the capacity to achieve the supersensory experiences
necessary for individual research."
[25]
Steiner hoped to form a spiritual movement that would free the
individual from any external authority: "The most important problem of
all human thinking is this: to comprehend the human being as a
personality grounded in him or herself."
[25] For Steiner, the human capacity for
rational
thought would allow individuals to comprehend spiritual research on
their own and bypass the danger of dependency on an authority.
[25]
Steiner contrasted the anthroposophical approach with both conventional
mysticism, which he considered lacking the clarity necessary for exact knowledge, and
natural science, which he considered arbitrarily limited to investigating the outer world.
end partial quote from Anthroposophy
I have always been interested in applying Spiritual knowledge and freedom with the Scientific Method as postulated by Francis Bacon(the father of the Scientific method) in regard to everything I experience. So, whether it is in regard to my car, the weather, a jet plane, or spiritual experiences to me they are all equal in applying the scientific method too.
Even my experiences with God can be viewed through the scientific method.
So, for example, if God tells me something I can look at it and think to myself, "Is this God telling me something or someone pretending to be God?"
My ex-wife was an empath and sometimes would telepathically pretend to be God and this would upset me which is one of the reasons I'm not married to my ex-wife anymore.
So, in all aspects making sure it is God and not another person or some non-God type of being or non-angelic type of being is very important before you take what any being says seriously that comes to you telepathically.
Even if you are drinking alcohol or taking drugs you cannot even trust yourselves completely because of your altered state. And many people forget this in their stupor and become very dangerous.
So, being close to God and listening to God requires a level head and a somewhat good diet too or else all kinds of things can go very wrong.
So, balance and stability are very important in all of this to get anywhere really.
It's like if you let someone drive a car or plane that doesn't really know how to you just know people are going to die.
It's exactly the same with spiritual things. If people aren't balanced and don't know what they are doing people can die too.
So, first it is about having the ability to see things as they really are. Then it is about training enough not to be dangerous to yourself or others.
If you go off half cocked people die, people get hurt so you have to know what you are doing or really bad things can happen around all this.
However, you have to start somewhere and on the way to enlightenment we all have both good and bad experiences.
There is an old joke that illustrates this perfectly. (This isn't about laughing really this is about understanding).
A Couple went to the Himalayas to find out the secret of life.
They finally reached the cave of a Great Master who had been there for 25 years meditating.
They asked him "What is the secret of Life?"
He said: "Good Decisions!"
Then they asked how to you learn to make good decisions?
He said quickly "Bad Decisions!"
Which says it all.
