Where I live there are many electric bicycles where I live that tourists and others ride a lot up near San Francisco and also here in Santa Barbara. So, even though I have a good mountain bike I have thought about getting an electric bicycle. A Friend said he bought a used Haibike from Japan and that it can go 30 miles per hour. So, I thought I'd share about what he bought. He said you still have to pedal because it is a pedal assisted bike but it goes really fast at 30 mph but not sure what model he bought. He told me it has different adjustments and that the seat has an electric motor up and down to your specific needs for the height of the seat as well.
