You see it in all religions and in all philosophies that actually work and that aren't counterproductive in life.
Kindness is the basis of wealth and power in the end. Successful rich people who stay successful are always kind to those they see they can help. You might see rich drug dealers who might not be kind but usually their competition shoots or kills them soon and soon they are no more.
In the end kindness makes one rich, makes one wise, and makes the world a better place for everyone potentially.
I discovered this in my 20s.
I had been raised on what I might call a Christian dualistic judgemental path. Once I discovered the problem with this approach was mostly judging others I moved over to Kindness and Buddhism combined with Christian Brotherhood as my motto.
I stopped judging people because they had different skin colors than I. I stopped judging people who came from different countries or parts of the country than me. I stopped judging people so quickly and often gave them more the benefit of the doubt unless I sensed they were crazy or dangerous to me and to my family. Even then I found I could deal with dangerous people better because of my kindness and I was more likely to survive any situation I might encounter around the world traveling.
So, kindness has literally saved my life, made me a custodian of God's Wealth literally and allowed me to help people in an infinite amount of ways all over the earth on God's behalf.
Kindness and Ahimsa has saved my life and increased my lifetime in unbelievable ways.
And this could also be true for you as God and life see what you are capable of to help others also.

Note: Ahimsa just means I have taken the vows of harmlessness. This basically means I don't kill anything including insects except in self defense. I do believe in self defense, however.
For example, I keep at least one daddy long legs spider in my home usually in the bathroom which kills all other insects and spiders because they are the most poisonous spider in California. However, they cannot bite through human skin because it is too thick. As a result they are safe to have around. But, I only leave one to patrol my bathroom. if you have two then often they will mate and then you have to deal with thousands of little daddy long legs spiders in your bathroom. So, I only allow one of them to be there. Any other spider I escort outside my home. They can live there if they want to.
I have done this since the 1980s and I find that I don't have to deal with spiders I have killed coming back to cause me harm astrally because they are angry being killed. The same is true of all the other creatures I don't kill as well.
Life watches us every moment to see if we can be trusted in how we deal with all life on earth and beyond. As life trusts us more we become more and more enlightened. Practice of Ahimsa makes perfect. This is part of the path to full enlightenment.
