I was 32 before I fully grasped Non-dualism

Being raised in a Christian Country by parents who were both Mystical Christian Ministers it wasn't hard to embrace dualism where everything is either good or bad (nothing in between). But, being an intelligent person I saw at many and all points that this just wasn't true.

People, places, things, locations were not just good or bad they were many things and to reduce something to just good or bad made no sense unless you are childish beyond belief as an adult.

So, adulthood brought many more questions than answers for me until I began to read about non-dualism. At first, the concept scared me until I put it into the context of something like the weather.

Is rain good or bad? Is sunlight good or bad? Is Drought Good or bad? Is snow good or bad?
Is Wind Good or bad? etc. etc. etc.

I realized that rain is both, sunlight is both, drought is both, snow is both, wind is both because it all depends upon who is experiencing these things as to whether any of these things are good or bad.

You cannot fully say that rain, snow, wind, sunlight, drought or any of these things are completely good or bad but rather it is the effect it is having upon individual people at the time.

So, none of these things can be said to be either good or bad all the time. Just like people cannot be said to be either good or bad all the time. The Best of people sometimes do bad things and the worst of people sometimes do good things and everywhere in between.

Understanding all this I became far less judgmental of all beings and everything in my life and then I moved from being judgmental to becoming more and more compassionate to all beings including myself.

This I found was wisdom in action and the most powerful path I have ever been on in my life.

Because when you judge others you also judge yourself. When you judge yourself you reduce your lifespan by putting yourselves down with hate.

But, when you are compassionate to all life in the universe and pray for all life in the universe you are also compassionate to yourself and then you are increasing not only your own lifespan but also the lifespans of all those around you and all beings in the universe.

By God's Grace
