First of all, mostly Buddhists set fire to themselves in protest of some government or dictator. When someone does this you know the person they are protesting is a very very bad person to be causing someone to set their body on fire.
In Buddhism, taking personal responsibility for your own life and taking personal responsibility for anything that happens on earth (rather than blaming others for your problems) is the reason for setting yourself on fire through self immolation.
Culturally, it is when you are so upset at the behavior of someone else (and you don't believe in killing them for your upsetedness) that you set yourself on fire so everyone knows how upset you are about (in this case) How very very Bad for mankind Trump is. For example, sometimes Tibetan protest in this way for all the Tibetan Buddhists killed by the Chinese government just for practicing Tibetan Buddhism. In the case of Trump it is his elimination of all human rights other than his own just to make more millions as he watches everyone die.
We may see hundreds of Buddhists set themselves on fire because of Trump and the harm he is doing to all life on earth the next few years. It's really hard to say because it's such an individual choice.
I hope this helped in understanding why someone would do this.
