I think the main idea here is that the rich don't like so many poor and middle class using up natural resources so they come up with people like Trump and Xi in China to start trade wars to starve as many as possible to death now.
In the past, the rich needed the poor to be their slaves before robotics and computers. However, now all that has changed to where you can buy a robot that will work for you 24 hours a day for several years at much less the cost of hiring a person to work 8 hours a day 5 days a week. After 3 years that robot will need to be replaced after working 24 hours a day 7 days a week. But, it doesn't require medical care or medical insurance and it doesn't take sick days from work or get pregnant and have to leave work or get depressed or other things.
So, soon there will be no need for any but skilled workers to build and service robotics and computers. Self driving cars and trucks are already in the pipeline so the main thing men do on earth for work (drive vehicles of all sizes) will soon be gone completely this century. And what will all these men do then to eat worldwide?
