Ocasio-Cortez renews impeachment call amid probe involving Trump's Scotland property
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) renewed calls to impeach President Trump Friday shortly after reports emerged of a House investigation into a stop a military crew made at his Turnberry resort in Scotland.
"The President is corrupt and must be impeached," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted in response to a post that provided details of the report.
The report, which Politico broke on Friday night, said that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee had launched a probe into an unusual stop that an Air National Guard crew made at the president's Scottish resort while in route to Kuwait.
People familiar with the matter told Politico that the crew made the stopover on both legs of the journey to deliver supplies.
A senior Democratic aide on the oversight panel told The Hill on Friday that "Defense Department has not produced a single document in this investigation."
"The committee will be forced to consider alternative steps if the Pentagon does not begin complying voluntarily in the coming days," the aide added.
The Pentagon and Oversight Committee did not respond to requests for comment from The Hill.
According to Politico, the panel's probe is just one of the latest developments in a larger inquiry into military spending at the president's property in Scotland.
The report has prompted criticism against Trump from a number of Democrats alleging corruption.

The report comes several days after the Trump administration found itself in hot water over Vice President Pence's stay at a Trump resort during an official trip to Ireland.
Pence had been in the country this week to participate in meeting Dublin, which is located 180 away from the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel where he stayed in Doonbeg.
