Trump is likely the end of the Republican party as we know it

This is actually a very terrible thing. It's unknown what will replace the self destructing Republican party at this point. So, we will have to see. I was originally raised a Conservative Libertarian Republican by the way even though I left in the mid 70s because of Nixon and never returned. Millions of kids raised as Republicans are also leaving in droves because of Trump now as well.

Up until now the country has sort of ambled on with the two party system sort of like a jogger with one leg as a Republican and the other as a Democrat. So, if you go back in time looking at presidents it has always been sort of equal between Democratic Presidents and Republican presidents regarding the time spent in power.

But now, this is a disaster for our country to have Putin put in Trump which has disrupted all this.

Look at how many offices in the government have not been filled by Trump as he tries to garner all power to himself so no one has any authority but him?

This has been a disaster not only for our country but also for the whole world that Putin has succeeded where everyone else has failed in trying to destroy our country.

Can we recover from Trump?

It's possible but I liken it to having a flat tire on the freeway. It's very very dangerous and if there is snow on the ground the person changing the tire (including Trump) might be killed in other vehicles sliding in the snow in bad conditions like these ones.

We almost just had a bad shooting war with people dying with Iran. This is nothing to laugh about by the way. I was just listening to U.S. soldiers in the Al Asad Base talking about what happened there on CNN as they walked us through a video of what their living quarters and everything they owned was burned up there of a personal nature including photos, memorabilia and things you actually need like a toothbrush and clothes. I noticed the soldiers who lost all their stuff looked pretty tired because their beds were gone too.

Can we recover from Trump and what he has done selfishly to our nation?

Hopefully. But I'm  no longer certain what comes next for either the U.S. or the world at this point.
