So, I guess Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote from about 1903 until 1946. Tonight my wife and I are watching John Carter(2012) which was made by Disney. Though it wasn't a success at the box office and cost 250 to 350 million to make I still loved this movie a lot because it took me back to another era that some call Steampunk today. Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote in a more similar style to Jules Verne who all Science Fiction and Fantasy Authors tend to harken back to even though each have their own unique styles.
I think it is a way of "Seeing" the universe that all Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Share.
Today we have people like George Lucas and Gene Roddenberry who did respectively Star Wars and Star Trek. What they each have in common (even though I think Roddenberry has passed away now) is applying present scientific theory to their works which takes them out of the realm of Fantasy and into the realm of plausible Science Fiction from applied theories that presently exist around the world from Scientists all over. Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov also shared this Scientific bent to their works as well as many others.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
