But, southern California was in the 80s. Today in contrast it is around 77 degrees in Santa Barbara instead of the 86 to 88 yesterday. But, even today in Orange California they expect 90 and it's 84 already as I write this. In Palm Springs it's 99 right now with the expected high of 103.
Why am I writing about this?
Because these likely are all time records for this early in the year for all these places.
Yes. It's true I have been in 120 degrees or more in Palm Springs but that is usually in August or September or even in October not in April.
So, the point is this might be a bad wind and fire year for southern California with temperatures this high already here in April. When temperatures hit this high if you are used to living in Southern California you know that the Fire season likely is going to be a bad one too.
Because what drives fire? High Winds.
And what creates high winds. Heat.
And the Santanas have already started this week by the way in southern California. So, when the high winds from the north or off the deserts begin this is when the fire often begin too.
The good news is that the wild grasses are still green from all the rains but that will all change likely by June unless we get more Rain in April and May and except for last year we usually don't get any rain in May at all.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
