To be safe and to be Realistic:

We likely will be wearing masks for the next 5 to 10 years even after a vaccine simply because we will all watch those who don't wear masks likely die often one by one. But, for the same reason that all race car drivers don't die on the same day some people who don't wear masks will survive all this and come out the other side okay and some won't.

However, your best chance of not dying or living the rest of your life maimed by coronavirus because you can't breathe well anymore is to wear a mask in the first place.

The other reason you want to be wearing a mask is that there are still some more remote countries around the world that haven't been hit hard by Coronavirus yet and this might still be true 2 to 5 years from now. So, unless something changes majorly we might have 5 to 10 years of this.

But, if it is like the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic (at least in the U.S. and Europe) the pandemic should start to slow down by February or March of 2022 (if it is like that pandemic as it affected the U.S.).
