My son has always been a genius around anything to do with computers and software and has even more abilities in this direction than I have in my life.
He told me today that If I updated my operating system (something I hate to do because often it either destroys your phone permanently or your relationship with it). So, often (like now) I haven't updated my system on my smart phone simply because I didn't want to destroy my phone or have to throw it away completely. And even now this summer I was told my phone was waterproof (well, it wasn't) and almost permanently lost the use of my phone because I thought it was from kayaking on a lake with it in a plastic bag to take great pictures. So, I lost the use of my phone for about a week because I mistakenly believe Apple for telling me my phone was waterproof.
But, tonight he gave me the best advice so far. He said, "IF you update your Iphone's operating system you MUST MUST MUST shut it all the way down at least 3 times or else it will burn out the battery in about 1 hour after you first load the most recent updates.
So, remember this folks: "IF you don't want your battery to run out within an hour of charging it you MUST MUST MUST shut down your phone at least 2 times and for good measure 3 times completely to avoid your battery running dead in just one hour."
This allows the new operating system to reset enough times so it gets used to itself enough to actually work for you and not completely against you which is what it does when you first start it after updating it.
Why do I and most of my family have Iphone's?
Because they are the simplest and most intuitive smartphone you can buy.
Others like Android can do many more things (don't get me wrong) but if you are like me and ONLY want to make phone calls and text and stuff like this, IPhone might be your best choice. But, once again we all are often very different in what we want our smartphones to be able to do.
Later: I realized I might not have been clear enough regarding this: You aren't shutting down your phone 3 times completely before you download your new operating system updates. You are doing this AFTER you download all the updates to your operating system. Otherwise it is not useful.
If your phone still burns all it's electricity in it's battery in one hour or so I would recommend seeing your provider to see what they say after you shut it completely down 3 times and restart 3 times.
