California's overall case number is more than 1.7 million, with 52,281 new cases added Thursday. More than 41,000 new cases were announced Friday, as officials noted some were from earlier and had yet been reported.

I just did the math from 52,281 new cases on Thursday December 17th 2020.
Even at a 2.5% death rate we get a minimum of 1307 deaths here in California from the 52,281 new tested cases yesterday, Thursday likely by January or February.
If we are getting 1/9 or 1/10 of the cases in California (the 40 million of us) of the rest of the country that might mean we are going to be seeing over 10,000 Americans dying on at least some days per day these next couple of months here in the U.S.!
And this is just the numbers caused by Thanksgiving get togethers of families and funerals and such!
What will the Christmas and New Years Get togethers do to these numbers?
