The point is that in South Western California if you go out into heat unprepared it is pretty easy to make a mistake and either get Heat prostration or die from about now to October of 2021. So, being prepared for this is important. For example, if your car breaks down (or motorcycle) you could die in the peak of heat of some of these days while traveling through this area.
