The previous article is why so many people live in older or newer motor homes or trailers in California

As you can see from the map on the previous webpage it takes over 120,000 dollars a year to afford an average home in California. And if you want a view of the ocean from that home be prepared to pay 1 to 5 million dollars for that home too anywhere on the coast of California (unless you inherit from your family or something) and even then you are going to pay likely 10,000 to 30,000 a year in property taxes just to keep a paid for home too. And that doesn't include utilities or food and things like that.

So, living along the California coast is likely one of the most expensive places to live in the entire U.S. However, here is why people live on the coast of California 6000 miles of ocean and clean air purified by rainstorms and the ocean with prevailing winds heading east. So, also living on the California, Oregon or Washington Coast you are going to have some of the cleanest air on earth for you and your family to breathe too which is no small thing. Also, the Pacific ocean (at least in California) generally prevents snowfall or freezing temperatures.

For example, where I live we might get one day a year that it goes down (at night) to 35 to 40 degrees. But the average daily temperature high is between 60 and 65 degrees with most nights not going below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. On top of this on the coast even in the summer time (where I live) you aren't going to get temperatures above 85 to 90 and even then this will be only a few days a year. So, where I live 95% of the people don't have air conditioning in their homes because they don't really need it.

But, there's always climate change that maybe could change all this.

However, if you love California because it has literally all things weather wise as well as deserts, oceans, lakes Farmland, Mountains (even the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states is in California- Mt. Whitney. And it has 4 growing seasons throughout the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley but this year the drought is a real problem for all farmers in the state.

But, you also should notice an average home in Hawaii is 153,000 Dollars or more which says a lot about how expensive Hawaii is if the California Average is 120,000 plus.
