Grass Valley could receive a foot or more of snow by Tuesday

If you know the altitude of Grass Valley it isn't very high. It's only 2411 feet high. So, the snow levels actually could come down as low as 1300 feet or lower. This means they likely will get over 1 foot of snow in Grass Valley. So, if you are heading over I-80 over the Sierras it doesn't look good from about now onward through Tuesday. You might make it or it could be hit or miss with snow spinouts or the whole road could close over to Reno from Sacramento or Grass Valley.

The Weather man said it could also snow as low as Placerville too so heads up people in the foothills of the Sierras.
