Between 1945 and 1991 when the Cold War ended it was very useful to believe in God and angels and people were killing themselves basically all the time during this period of time because they couldn't take the stress of when exactly they were all going to be nuked out of existence.
People today often take for granted the ease of how people have been since 1990 approximately when the Cold War ended and we didn't have to worry as much as we did about everyone dying any given day.
Now, we are back in a place where we all could get nuked once again any given day that Putin gets angry enough and goes off and orders it done. This could realistically happen any time now. and then U.S. and Russian and English and French and Israeli and East Indian and Pakistani and North Korean and Chinese doomsday weapons would go off killing everything left alive on earth. This is a given too.
So, once Putin launches nuclear missiles then everything living on earth is dead right then because of the doomsday weapons every country has set to go during these types of scenarios.
In fact, this did happen on timeline 1 by accident the first time we had 9-11 and 5 billion people were dead within a month or two of this here on earth.
We presently live in Timeline 2 which was created so civilization didn't have to end like it did on the first timeline here on earth.
The point of all this is that you could become an alcoholic to try to forget these times, you could take any number of drugs to forget these times, Or you could just believe in God or a higher power and believe that even if you die you are going to go to a good place. It's your choice after all.
