I had wanted to replace my 2011 Tundra in the last 2 years but thought better of it

 Why?

Because first of all I cannot replace my 2011 Tundra because they no longer make the 6 speed small V8 engine that gives me 20 mpg mostly unloaded at highway speeds, especially when it was new. With the 6 speed overdrive it has been a really amazing truck and they seem to go on forever as long as you maintain them and use synthetic motor oil. So, even at about 130,000 miles from a 2011 since it is well maintained I likely can expect another 200,000 miles on it just because of maintaining it well and using synthetic motor oil in it. Also, it's a 4 wheel drive with 2 wheel drive, hi 4 wheel drive, and low 4 wheel drive. So, with the ground clearance you can drive this thing through almost anything you could imagine. I don't have a winch on it but that would be the only thing I would have on it I don't now if I was more serious into 4 wheel driving that I am now and winching off of boulders and trees to get unstuck from snow or mud or whatever.

But, the do make a V6 Hybrid. I didn't really want a hybrid truck but if the price of Gas stays high another year or two I might consider it. My older adopted daughter has a 2010 hybrid Prius and that thing is amazing because it really does get 50 miles per gallon. Owning an all electric vehicle isn't practical through all of the U.S. because there just aren't enough charging stations. But, there are enough between San Diego and Seattle if that is all the driving you are doing and you don't mind waiting 45 minutes to an hour each time you recharge at charging stations between San Diego and Seattle.

But, with a hybrid it is more like a diesel electric train engine in that it is very very efficient in how it uses the electricity that it generates with the engine. So, if you can live with getting radiated by the electrical corona of the electricity generating and the electricity being used by the electric motors in a hybrid then I guess it's okay.

However, I would want to lead line everything between me and any generators or electric motors in any hybrid I bought to protect from long term damage from electrical coronas. This would be especially true for babies raised in hybrids on the road. Because imagine how much electrical corona damage they would sustain by the time they were 20 or 30?

Riding once in a hybrid or electric vehicle isn't the problem, It's the long term damage which might be like taping smart phones all over your body while they are on and in use for 20 or 30 years time.

For example, I bought cover shields for our phones that shield out harmful damage and I never put a cell phone up to my head and only use it on speakerphone or through my vehicles speakers. So, it's okay to use all these things electronic but you have to be smart about them not to die before your time because of them too. It's sort of like smoking or eating too much red meat. They all will kill you eventually. It's only a matter of WHEN.
