Why?
It would be because American oil and Saudi oil would have to keep Europe afloat so in order to do this both regarding oil and natural gas it might be necessary to ration American's use of gas this summer and fall and possibly through the winter.
So, unless people take vacations by car in the month of June or early July it's possible because of Gas rationing that vacations by car will not be possible here in the U.S. because of the War in Ukraine.
My father told me of a story during World War II when he and his brothers went to Yellowstone from Seattle. (How did they do this with gas rationing?). They converted a Deusenberg car in the early 1940s to burn fuel oil which wasn't rationed because it was mostly for heating homes. They welded a platform on the back of the Deusenberg likely of a 1930s vintage and put 50 gallon drums of fuel oil they bought in Seattle. Then they drove to Yellowstone on vacation that way.
At the time they were working on building Liberty ships as electricians in Seattle harbor for the war effort and got some time off work and went on vacation. They said the exhaust pipe shot out big blue rings of smoke all the way to Yellowstone and back from the converted Deusenberg to fuel oil. So, even if Gasoline is rationed other things can burn instead that aren't rationed if you are mechanical like my uncles and father were. They were likely driving a large 6 passenger one to Yellowstone and back from Seattle.
