If you are anywhere between Point Reyes and Big Sur be really careful of the waves

Though I got a good video of almost being washed off the rocky trail above one of the beaches near where I live whether you are a local or whether you are a tourist these waves right now are the scariest and most unpredictable waves I have seen so far.

It was low tide (supposedly) today. However, one of the sneaker waves completely covered the beach with 2 to 3 feet of water and almost came up and got me off the rocky trail. If I had been where I was 5 minutes before this sneaker wave hit both I and my dog would have been washed out to sea and lost.

The scariest Sneaker waves I have seen during this fall and winter so far. So, be really careful at the beach now because it is just so unpredictable and the next few days it is supposed to get even worse and flood nearby rivers as the tides rise whether there is new rain or not. So, please be really careful so you can spend Christmas and New Years with your families and still be alive!

Basically what happens to rivers with these high tides and high wave conditions is you get 20 to 30 foot waves on top of high tides which mean you might get water topping out at 27 to 40 feet above normal with these waves going up rivers so the river water has nowhere to go but back up the river and flood out some homes or businesses. This is what is happening at high tides right now with waves this big and the keep getting bigger.

Today the Average wave outside was about 15 to 20 feet but they are supposed to get even bigger over the next couple of days. (At least where we live).
