The main reason is both Republicans and Democrats are more used to all his tricks and know how to manipulate him through his ego.
Also, I think the main reason he was elected was because he was a man. Many people weren't ready for a woman president because a woman would make many people insecure psychologically to have as president. They can handle a woman vice president but aren't ready for a woman President yet and might never be. Part of it is that America is the most powerful nation on earth and that is really scary in itself so a woman president on top of that is just a bridge too far for many people both male and female. People feel that a woman cannot shut off her emotions completely in a really bad situation to make the right decisions for the survival of life on earth and Democracy everywhere. But, Trump won't defend democracy either so it's kind of ridiculous isn't it?
