I think expecting the whole world to be terrified and hating Trump is pretty realistic about now

When you tell people in Canada they should be the 51 State of the U.S. and you tell people in Panama that we are taking over the Panama Canal (that we built) and you tell people in Greenland we are going to take Greenland (with force if necessary) the whole world is going to start hating you. Not only hating Trump but all Americans because this is just how Foreignors are.

Here is an example when I traveled to Paris in 2009.

I was in a bank and the lady helping us said, "Merci pour Obama!"

Merci pour Obama means "Thank you For Obama" who had just been elected president. Most people in Europe really liked the fact that a Black man had finally been president here in the U.S. Europe is much more liberal in political ways than the U.S. presently is by the way.

and I said "You are welcome!" and I smiled because this was a positive thing in a group of people in a bank in Paris.

However, as an American traveling now around the world people are likely saying things like: 

"We are so sorry you are suffering under that Dictator!" And you can always say: "I didn't vote for him!"

Which might be useful to say whether you did or not so you aren't killed for saying you voted for Trump in other countries.

For example now, meeting a Palestinian anywhere on earth and telling them you voted for Trump is almost sure to get you killed anywhere in the Middle East right now!

The other thing I learned traveling over the years is that if you are meeting people often it might be useful if they are just strangers to tell people you are from Canada because everyone likes Canadians.

Americans are often seen as Psychologically UGLY and uncaring about local customs. So, Americans are often seen as bad people in other countries. You have heard the term: "Ugly Americans". This isn't about physical looks at all by the way but about how crazy and unthinking and uncultured Americans often are in other countries, especially in Europe.

If Americans did what they do all the time in Europe in other places on earth they would just disappear more than they do now given the way the world presently is.

So, if you don't protect yourself from Trump getting you killed while traveling abroad, who will?

Ordinarily the world is a hostile place but with Trump president that might get you killed now traveling abroad. since you don't likely have Secret Service Protection 24 hours a day be really careful what you say to people as you travel abroad now.

If you are a young person it might just be easier in some situations to tell them you are Canadian simply because most Europeans especially cannot tell the difference in their verbal accent between Canadians and Americans.

However, people in England might be able to tell because their primary language is English. Same with the Irish and Scottish people.
