why is it useful to break everything down into Hypotheses, Theories and Laws? (this is known as the Scientific Method)

It allows one to have a somewhat rational explanation for everything on ever level.

For example, I wake up and the dog is there and my wife is gone. It then becomes a hypothesis that my wife has gone shopping. So, I go out near the garage and see that her car is gone. Then it becomes a theory that she has gone shopping. Then I call her on the phone and she tells me she is shopping and or doing something else. Then it becomes a Law that this is actually what she is doing and what is happening.

But, if I told someone before doing all this research into the situation it could at MOST be a theory that my wife has gone shopping.

However, if she told me the night before she was going shopping (she doesn't always) then it would likely become close to a law and definitely a theory that she was going shopping the next day.

I have found it useful to do this with literally everything in my life from the sun coming up to what the Galaxy looks like to quantum Theory to Mystical Truths to religions to people to everything.

When I do this I'm not living in some old wives tale of something made up but not real but instead a rational explanation of whatever is going on inside of me or around me in my life.

By doing all this I'm much more likely to stay alive and not die for stupid reasons and the people around me are much less likely to die for stupid reasons too.

So, if you want to stay alive very long breaking everything down into Hypotheses, Theories in Laws is a good way to start a very long life.
