The reason you would do this likely is that a poodle is very intelligent as a dog and a Labrador is a water dog with webbing between their toes for swimming. Also, since I owned a Yellow Lab (there are many different colors of Labrador by the way) but what they seem to have in common is that they don't think other dogs are dogs they only think Labradors (of any color) are worth hanging out with. I thought this was pretty funny with my yellow lab by the way.
Also, Huxley he was called had his first owner die on him who was an older man so when he met me he adored me and I would wake up in the night with Huxley staring at me adoringly and grateful to have another male master in his life because his life was difficult after his first master passed on. I think Huxley died around 2018 I believe while my wife and daughters were visiting Ireland, Scotland and England and I didn't go because I was trying to survive a medicine going sideways and not dying or having to go into the hospital then.
Anyway, I have never had a labradoodle but some people really like them. I like our Corgi a lot and it's our 3rd dog that was at least part corgi. Our first 1/2 corgi was a jack Russell mixed with a corgi. And we loved the corgi part of her but not the Jack russell part of her.
A Jack Russell is a completely outdoors dog and good with horses if you own a horse by the way but they roll in poop a lot and I couldn't train our dog out of doing this ever no matter what I did. So, she was always rolling in horse poop or some other kind of poop out on the trail which was maddening about her. She (the corgi-jack Russell) eventually got into it with a raccoon and died about one month later from a kidney problem from the infection caused by her battle with the raccoon. Our baby sitter left her outside and forgot her at night and didn't bring her in in time to save her from fighting with a raccoon. However, our other dog wasn't interested in fighting with a raccoon over our trash can so he was okay and survived many more years.
Our other dog was called "Furby" (I didn't name him) and he must have been a fur ball as a puppy. He was a long haired German Shepard mixed with an Australian Shepard and he was absolutely the smartest male dog I have ever met. However, he was about 70 pounds and built more like a Collie in some ways because of the breeding mix.
I wasn't sure I could handle him simply because he believed he was more intelligent than me from a dog's point of view. So, I was wondering if I could ever make this work. However, one day he stole a whole pizza off the stove (he was a total food doggie) and I had to discipline him for stealing a pizza. Luckily, I was the Alpha after this experience and we were fine together after that. We got him at about 2 years age and he lived to be I think around 16 years old and I think he passed away around 2016. He was a really great dog and I really miss him a lot. It's amazing when you have a dog as smart as he was!
Furby was the first dog that was truly mine because my parents didn't allow me to have a dog growing up. I found him at a DVD rental place around 2002 or 2003 I think. The SPCA had him in one of the cages outside and he reminded me of KING a gigantic Long hair German Shepard my Dad had when he died in 1985. Dad's dog was huge he was about 150 pounds and you really didn't want to mess with that dog at all. And he was a one man dog so when Dad died my mother had to give him back to my Dad's sister whose Dog bred him so at least he got to live with his mother and my Aunt until he eventually passed away years later.
