Uncle Tommy Travels Time

My uncle Tommy is listed among the war dead of World War II in Seattle. This is another part of the Story of my Father and his  Brothers Bob and Tommy:

I was watching the 1934 movie The Thin Man(1934) on PBS from a DVR of it I recorded automatically on my TIVO and it reminded me of Einstein and Nicola Tesla with my father and my Uncle Bob in the late 1930s in Seattle when they tested an early form of Time Travel then. The rumblings of war had already begun by the mid to late 1930s so the militaries of the world were already beginning to prepare in any way that they could for World War II during the Great Depression where so many Americans Starved to death or worse.

The first scene in the movie reminded me of what happened I believe around 1936 or 1937. My father and my Uncle Bob were in the Marine Core Reserves as Gunners on Hellcat Biplanes (they sat behind the pilot during maneuvers  in these bi-planes.

One time an engine cowling on my Uncle Bob's plane came loose and as the gunner he got out to re-attach it before it could be a problem. I'm not entirely sure of the purpose of a cowling other than it was sort of like the hood of a car only on a plane likely there for aerodynamics and to keep water and rain out of the engine compartment?

anyway, my uncle Bob after re-connecting the loose Cowling got back in the Hellcat Bi-plane (usually painted yellow for some reason) and forgot to put on his seat belt. So, when the pilot did loop the loops (upside down maneuvers Bob found himself with his legs hanging out of the cockpit from Gravity. Now remember he had on a parachute which doubled as his seat cushion at that time for safety in case they had to bail out for any reason. However, my father in formation with his brother in another Marine Core plane Hellcat biplane was "Laughing his ass off" to see his brothers legs hanging out of the plane. Now you might wonder why he did this but his family was always used to taking physical risks all the time in their lives and the whole family was extremely co-ordinated. One of the ways Bob made money when he was 16 years old while going to high school was blowing up tree stumps with dynamite after school and on weekends. So, they were used to (the whole family) taking a lot of physical risks. I think my grandfather likely showed Bob how to blow up stumps with dynamite.

So, anyway they all survived this including Bob. I'm just sharing this true story as a way for you to understand the kind of people my grandfather and Uncle Bob and my Dad and Tommy actually were in the 1930s.

There are many other amazing stories but this one will have to do for now.

My father and my Uncle Bob (Bob was the oldest born in 1912) then my father born in 1916 and then Tommy likely born in 1919 or 1920.
