What's the main problem of leaving hoses outside in this deep freeze?

If you grab one frozen it likely will break along with the ice inside of one. So, unless you can pick up the whole hose as one thing and bring it inside to thaw out some it will be completely useless to you in any emergency if it is left outside rolled up and ready to break the first time you grab it. So, be very careful if you move your hoses now you don't break them so you can use them in an emergency  of some sort.

This is true especially at temperatures below 25 degrees Fahrenheit. I know this from living in Mt. Shasta especially when there were really cold years around 1990 to 1992 during the winters there.

I think in 1992 there was 12 feet of snow in town and roofs were collapsing all over the place. People then tried to take snow blowers up to their roofs and sometimes fell off into snow drifts which wasn't good too then. I visited friends there because I had moved to the SF Bay area and had bought another business there. But, in order to even park my vehicle I needed to spend about an hour with a snow shovel to dig a place to park my vehicle then in the snow there was so much. I was really glad I wasn't living there when this happened for about 100 reasons.
