Power off for 175,000 people and it's presently 38 degrees out! IN city of Mt. Shasta, California

But obviously this must stretch all the way to Redding to be a power outage this big! So, one wonders what really happened?

So, this is interesting!

I texted a friend of mine in SF Bay area and he said, "Now you're a real Mountain Man!"

And I texted back: "Where's my wood stove and my wood stash?" (which is what I always had for these kinds of emergencies when I lived in Mt. Shasta off and on from 1974 to 1992.

However, we do have flashlights and multi-wick candles that will help warm up our hands and our hotel room too. They say the power will come back on at 2 am but I will believe that when I see it because of what the power company says where I live is often BS too.

But, we also have a thermopane Sliding glass door and the place is well insulated. so, hopefully we will be okay when it gets down to 27 degrees tonight here in Mt. Shasta.

I talked to a friend who said his power was out on his 2 1/2 acres of land too. He was busy trying to take a bath while he still had hot water but said his water pressure tank would run out of water by morning too if the power didn't come back on regarding his well. also, he might need to shut off his hot water heater so it didn't burn up too maybe. Not sure what kind he has. oh on demand like Europe electric! that's right!
