It started rain up at Ascension Rock at Red Fir Flat while I was there with a friend and my wife and my dog yesterday. First there was thunder and lightning and then the drops started coming one by one and graduatlly increased. Luckily, we made it back to my car before it really let loose. Then we drove up as far as you can right now to Bunny Flat at 6900 feet elevation and the rain started to let loose more and more. It has rained off and on now since yesterday mostly off.
The next few days the temperatures in town are expected to go down to about 30 degrees so there likely will be some snow on both Mt. Shasta (if there hasn't been already) and possibly snow even in the town itself (if it sticks this late in the year).
So, either way the weather is interesting after the really hot weather for a week in March that melted off so much snow off the mountain. So, it's good more snow will likely fall the next few days on mt. Shasta once again!
