The 15 foot Waves combined with Kelvin Tides which are sort of like a Tsunami in that they raise the whole ocean by 1 foot to 1 1/2 foot plus high tides have made the Ocean and waves higher than I have ever seen. Where I live roads had to be closed so waves wouldn't crash over shoreline paved roads today. So, there was a stretch of about 3 to 5 miles where you couldn't drive along the ocean at all. Also, the beach I would normally walk my dog onto wasn't safe enough to do that today. Also, cement steps to help people get down to the beach the waves were crashing over. So, I expect a foot or two of sand likely will be washed out to sea over most of northern California today and yesterday and tomorrow. Yesterday 12 foot waves. Today 15 foot waves. Tomorrow 12 foot waves. So, the beaches look to be washing away for the winter which will as a result cause more of the shoreline that is sandstone to wash away exposing shoreline trails and sending the earth beneath these trails into the ocean. Amazing what Mother Nature can do!
I have never seen water from the ocean as high as it was at high tide today around 8:30 AM Saturday.
