I went to the movie because my teenage daughter wanted to see it with about 4 or 5 relatives and friends this evening. It is a very well made movie, probably one of the best this year in the last 12 months. However, unless you are prepared for rape and torture and other various mayhem you might not want to watch this movie. But it has all the elements of a good adventure mystery. A professional writer in disgrace. A young woman who has been having difficulties in her life since at least 12 and who tried to burn her father alive at age 12 who also happens to have a photographic memory but who is now in her early 20s and a good researcher. All this takes place mostly on an island connected by a bridge in Sweden in the wintertime. An amazingly powerful movie that strangely enough is a very unusual type of empowerment movie for women. But be prepared for rape and torture if you go see this movie!
Later: I also wrote something about the first movie of this same name made in Sweden that you can watch on Netflix with English subtitles. Here is the word button:Swedish Film:The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
