Because it is likely that genetically at least he would be A Series of Greats and then Grandfather to everyone 80% of us with any English Blood and possibly Scottish and Irish blood too.
This also would be likely of me as well because my grandfather and father told me I was related to Francis Bacon of England who wrote the Shakespearean plays because Shakespeare couldn't read or write because only royalty, Priests and ministers mostly were educated then. And Francis Bacon was reportedly the illegitimate son of Queen Elizabeth I of England.Queen Elizabeth I - Tudor Queen Elizabeth Tudor is considered by many to be the greatest monarch in English history
Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603)
King Edward III was born in November 1312 and died on June 21st 1377 and yet 80% of English people now (and all their descendants and relatives around the world) can call him a series of Greats and then Grandfather genetically at least.
I got to thinking tonight about how he could be the many greats and grandfather to so many people including myself. And this is how I thought it could have been done.
First Edward had to have spread his seed everywhere throughout England.
Then he would have to have spies checking who got pregnant within a couple of months of his visitation. Then if he suspected it was his child he would have to have provided money for this woman to raise this child to adulthood for all this to work given the fact that it was the 1300s with no welfare system or social security or even unemployment compensation or birth pay. However, having done all this until all his progeny (or at least most of them) were cared for it brings us to today where 80% of all people on earth with English Blood are related to King Edward III of England including myself.
