Note: Remember the person I'm talking about here was me 50 years ago because now I'm 70 but then I was 20.
At 20 I wanted to be a Yogi. I didn't know then likely what a Mahasiddha was but I aspired also to be one of these as well. Now I know that Mahasiddha translates to something like "King Magic User" but that isn't totally what this means. It means sort of someone like Jesus who can walk on water, levitate, read minds all over the world, talk with angels in real time all the time etc. This is what a Mahasiddha actually is. And according to Tibetan historical records Jesus learned to be a Mahasidda in India and the Himalayas sometime between his ages 18 and 30 before he returned to Israel to become Jesus the Christ who taught forgiveness (which is a form of deep compassion) for all life in the universe.
So, to put it simply my goal was to become like Jesus and the other Yogis and Mahasiddhas then at age 20. Did I succeed?
That's a hard question to answer.
Did I become enlightened?
In many ways the answer has to be: "Yes"
Did God come to me and live in my body with me ever since I was 15?
Yes. this is true.
But, what I discovered is that enlightenment is a forever process and never ends really.
The question then becomes: "At what stage of enlightenment are you at now? And what is your specialty in the eyes of God?"
These are really really important questions and I have to ask this about everyone I see or meet to find out how God wants me to help them now.
Because every stage of enlightenment has its responsibilities.
In other words life enlightens us but wants something in return. So, the more enlightened you are the more responsibilities you have towards all life in the universe.
For example, before you are married with children you might do almost anything in your life. But then, after being married and having children you must focus on helping and protecting your wife and children or soon they are either dead or gone from your lives.
The same is true of enlightenment at every stage. Every stage of enlightenment brings new responsibilities and if you fulfill those responsibilities associated with that level of enlightenment then you go further and further and further into more and more powerful and involved states of enlightenment.
In other words: You are proving yourself to all life in the universe every single moment day and night by everything you think or do always.
Anyway, I discovered around age 20 that I could be a householder Yogi and I was overjoyed because I was very handsome and girls kept falling in love with me so it was good for me to get married and settle down and have a good excuse not to date every beautiful girl I met. So, being a father was my yoga and being married was a secondary yoga as well. However, I always liked being a father the best because it suited me better than marriage did.
But, both became a yoga for me and I moved towards enlightenment through the discipline of family.
