Meaning

As a young man one of the quandaries I faced (like many people who actually think at all do) was to find enough meaning in my life to even want to be alive for one more day.

Like now, the world seemed to be going to hell pretty much and so I asked myself: "Why should I want to be alive at all?" And I didn't like at all the answers I came up with.

Of course there are many ways to find meaning to your life.

One way is altruistic which says something like: "I need to stay alive so that my friends and relatives don't follow my lead into suicide."

Another way to find meaning is to have someone who is in love with you and then you might say as I did: "I need to stay alive because this girl or woman or (whoever it is for you) is in love with me and out of respect for their love for me I need to stay alive to honor their love for me."

In some ways this is also a version of the first way because you are still staying alive for others.

And then there is the meaning because God or Buddha is asking you to stay alive for some purpose.

This I also found to be true for me.

One one level whether this is absolutely true or not isn't what is actually important here. What IS important here is that you stay alive so you don't create a chain reaction of suicides after you are gone by your own hand.

So, once again to "Honor the Living" you are forced to honor yourself by staying alive.

There is a saying: "No man is an island!" which is true which also means "No man or woman is an island!" which also means: "No child is an island too!"

And what this all actually means is: "Everything living is interconnected in infinite ways."

As an intuitive this is my direct experience always. So, when I meet someone new I'm connected to in the past, present and future often it takes my breath away in overwhelm. Sometimes I'm happy about this and other times I'm not. But, either way when I meet some soul I have known for at least millions of years or more I'm almost always overwhelmed by this experience of remembering who they are in relation to me in thousands of lifetimes in the past, present and future.

So, you often meet wives, husbands, children or parents from many different lifetimes as you move through your life and you feel those connections. But, what can you do about all this?

Sometimes you are free to rekindle old good relationships and other times you are not free to do so but you can still think: "I remember who they were to me and I'm overwhelmed by what I feel and it's okay that I'm overwhelmed by what I feel right now, but I have obligations to attend to in my life. So, I'll pray for this person that was close to me in other lifetimes on this or other planets or dimensions or heaven realms.

By God's Grace
