In 1492 there were only 70 to 88 million Europeans but there were about 60 million people in the Americas then

Our new study clarifies the size of pre-Columbian populations and their impact on their environment. By combining all published estimates from populations throughout the Americas, we find a probable Indigenous population of 60 million in 1492. For comparison, Europe’s population at the time was 70 to 88 million spread over less than half the area.

The Great Dying

But, because of the pandemics suffered from about 3000 BC up to 1492 in Europe when Europeans arrived 90% of people in the Americas died from the things Europeans who came were already immune to because over 90% of Europeans over time had also died of these things the last 3000 years. Sometimes these pandemics killed up to 95% of people in any one city in Europe.

This caused two things to happen.

The first is the civilizations and farms in the Americas mostly died out (around 90% of them) after 1492.

It also allowed Europeans to colonize the Americas because 90% of the people here that were native North, South, and Central Americans died from the diseases the Europeans were immune to from all the pandemics they had already suffered for 3000 years or more in Europe.

My thought is that it was the large Rome type of cities that would be the main cause of pandemics in Europe.  The lack of sanitation in big cities and grain silos to feed everyone and the rats it attracted likely brought many diseases to fruition in Europe that couldn't have occurred in the Americas because people were more spread out from each other than they were in Europe. Also, most places people went to the bathroom in Rivers so that it took their waste down stream and was eaten by fish along the way and in the oceans. This also kept people from developing pandemics as well.

Also, in the Americas people tended to live much closer to the earth and eat healthier food living mostly in more remote regions of the Americas. So this also reduced the risk of pandemics which are partly caused by large concentrations of human beings in one place with poor sanitation.

Though the ancient Romans had piped in water from the Alps all the way into Rome this broke down when the Roman Empire collapsed soon after Christianity came to Rome. So, after Christianity came all the ancient Roman ways which were more like Greek and Roman Gods in the Zeus pantheon ended when Christianity came to Rome and Europe.

Unfortunately, plumbing and sanitation was one of the things lost when Christianity first came to Italy and Rome which likely helped create pandemics from the time of the collapse of the Roman Empire to the present.

When anything major changes both good and bad changes take place in civilizations around the world over time.

The world is likely going through this type of major change right now because of the Coronavirus pandemic with so many people dying who are elders who hold the knowledge and wisdom of the last 100 to 200 years still in their lives and experiences.

So, this will reduce much of the ancient knowledge and wisdom during this time of the Great Death of Coronavirus worldwide because millions of knowledge holders worldwide are now dying even if most aren't being reported because they are never tested before they die worldwide.
