I was just watching a little of "Throw Momma from the train" on Cable TV. It is a movie with Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito from about 1987. Billy Crystal teaches writing to adults and Danny DeVito is one of his students.
It made me think back to when I was taking a lot of Creative Writing Classes in college in the 1980s to better develop as a writer. It didn't give me the patience for editing. But what it did do was to make me a better writer in that it taught me how to focus my creativity. As you move through life what one tends to have the most when young is enthusiasm and disappointment. And as people age the enthusiasm tends to wane and what one is left with usually is patience and the will to survive for oneself, one's relatives and one's children. So, this is a little different from enthusiasm and disappointment. But, in remembering one's enthusiasm and disappointment and when one adds perspective, wisdom and experience these experiences can make a very good read when written down properly.
So, writing becomes more useful to everyone as they move through life and have more experiences and have more wisdom to share with family and friends through the Internet and through letters, emails etc. So, in this way everything you learn helps everyone you know either directly or indirectly in some way.
And by recounting all your near death experiences, oceanic experiences with God, etc. you may save other lives like you once saved your own.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
