The Rule of Law and Civilization

The U.N. has failed the people of Syria as they stream by the millions out of Syria in order to save their women and children from rape or murder or worse. The U.N. and all it stands for has  completely failed the Middle East.

So, NATO has no choice but to protect the rule of law since the U.N. cannot protect people from Chemical Weapons even though 188 nations have signed an agreement against chemical weapons.

What will come from this police action by NATO nations? It is uncertain. One possibility is the U.S. and France and possibly Britain will  be attacked while enforcing the rule against Chemical weapons. But, if they are attacked and one or more of the destroyers harmed or destroyed then a state of war likely exists with whatever nation attacked our ships and because NATO is involved a state of war also would be invoked against all attackers by NATO as a direct result of this police action turned into a state of war by the attackers.

So, all this is a real mess from this point of view. But, it is certain that these actions of chemical warfare  followed by ongoing lies from Syria cannot be tolerated by the world community anymore.

Will the enforcement of civilization bring about a world War II type of situation in the middle east or a World War III scenario indirectly as a result of this police action? I don't know at this point. It all depends upon various nations views of what civilization (or the lack of it) really is.

So, what is Civilization and what is civility? This might be answered in the next couple of weeks and months in Syria and the middle east.
