Controlling Ebola will completely depend upon a vaccine or drug at this point

Unless a vaccine or effective drug (even if it is made from the blood of Ebola Survivors) is made available to everyone in an Ebola Affected area, the virus likely is going to spread now at a rate of a doubling of cases in Africa every month and possibly throughout the world.

The virus has to be controlled or more and more countries are going to become dysfunctional and unable to feed or clothe or house their people's one by one. At this point the problem is not just Ebola itself but also collapsing infrastructures to care for people in any way in countries where Ebola hits.

Instead of hundreds of doctors and nurses needed what is now needed is thousands of volunteers. At this rate of volunteers from around the world Ebola is likely to become endemic to Earth just like AIDS became from about 1981 on.

And at a certain point thousands of health care workers won't be needed but 10s of thousands and so on.
