Economic Warfare: The present problem of Nuclear Weapons

Was Putin Right to have taken Crimea? Was he right to invade Ukraine? If we look at this from the values of the 1800s like Putin seems to it is just what nations who were big enough and strong enough always did. Manifest Destiny.

However, if we look at it from the Post World War II scenario we have lived in since 1945 and 1991 when the Soviet Union Economically collapsed it is not acceptable.

However, the problem with economic warfare with a Country like Russia is:

This is a big country with nuclear weapons. NO matter what you might say about it, it has enough nuclear weapons to blow the Earth up many many times in any given second and many other weapons too.

Then you add to this:

News about why the U.S. and Europe are conducting sanctions against Russia aren't reaching the average person in Russia. Only the Intelligentsia of Russia who use Internet news likely are reading about why sanctions are actually happening.

90% of the people of Russia don't know and don't care why their jobs and businesses are failing now. If you lost your job or business because of economic sanctions: "How would you feel?"

IF your children didn't have enough food to eat. IF people on the lower economic end of things started starving to death, "How would you feel?"

IF you didn't hear exactly "WHY?" the U.S. and Europe and other nations were sanctioning Russia and your children or parents were starving, "How do you feel?"

You aren't going to care why at a certain point.

And you are going to start to move to "Nuke'em"

which is the problem the U.S. and Europe are dealing with now.

Economic Warfare actually only works if there is enough communication where the average person in that country actually understands what is happening. But, because news isn't free in Russia and 90% of the people might not even know what is happening, they have only three choices:

1. move out of Russia right now like many of the Russian intelligentsia are already.

or.
2. Join the Army to go kill some Europeans or Americans or others sanctioning Russia like Saudi Arabia by driving down oil prices.

or

3. Starve to death.

Think about it!

I'm not saying here we shouldn't be sanctioning Russia.

What I am saying is "This doesn't affect Putin at all. It only affects the middle and lower classes of Russians who are going to start to starve to death and die starting very soon because of Sanctions."

And because the news about why sanctions are being applied isn't reaching most Russians,

This is going to be a problem for a long time to come for the world.

Not only that if Putin cuts the news even further from Russians and puts up a new Iron Curtain we might have a Russia more like North Korea than anything else. Imagine a Russia sounding like North Korea only with enough nuclear weapons to kill everything living on earth one of these days! This is not a pretty picture.

What is the short and long term solution to this problem?

Is there a solution at all?
