Once in a great while if I get depressed for one reason or another I take a 5-htp by Now. By my age my father had already been diagnosed with prostate cancer whereas I am cancer free.
I have dealt with bouts of skin cancer but even then no melanomas just squamish cells which only have a 5% chance of metastasizing and I have had them all removed mostly in the 1990s.
When my aunt died of a melanoma on her arm that metasticized into her abdomen my mother and I decided in 1995 after her funeral to see a dermatologist and both of us had stuff removed after that.

I have lived a very out of doors life of being a surfer from 1962 until 1969. And a body surfer and boogie boarder since I was about 8 or 10 years old (still doing that now). I have also been a skier since 1963 when I was 15 and a Scuba diver since I was 12 and got my license. I have also traveled around the world including up into the Himalayas. So, I have spent a whole lot of time outside enjoying the beauty of nature and experiencing it firsthand. This is one reason why I have had to deal with skin cancer. So, even though I never wore a hat much until 1995 I usually wear a hat in the sun to prevent more skin cancer on my face ever since then. However, sometimes I still get patches on my back from being in the hot tub with my shirt off on a sunny day that I have to have removed by a dermatologist. But I also like to be in the sun as I feel much healthier than when I don't.
