PTSD: Everyone has at least a mild case of it

What is the most common PTSD that everyone has if they were over 10 years old on September 11th 2001?
Group PTSD from watching on CNN or another source live planes crash into the Twin Towers in New York City and watching people jump off the roof (at least 100 people did this) to their deaths because it was less painful to jump than to be burned alive.

So, anyone especially in the western world has PTSD if they cared about any of the people dying and jumping and the buildings turning into dust along with everything else there as the buildings came down.

I cited this just to demonstrate a group PTSD Trauma that the world shared together that day and afterwards.

What was the result of this?

The terrorists got what they wanted. Governments in the western world wasted incredible amounts of money, "Trillions" on military responses which then caused directly the Great Recession which we are still trying to come out of.

This response was not logical or useful which is why it was a group PTSD world reaction to what happened. It was a completely emotional response which almost sent us (the western world into a great depression about 30 times worse than the Great Depression during the 1930s.

So, PTSD is nothing to laugh at even when it is millions and in this case billions of people who are adversely affected.

One could also say Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 was another group PTSD experience which ending up killing in the end somewhere between 50 and 100 million people.

So, understanding how traumatic PTSD is is helpful in trying to create useful responses rather than hysterical responses to the traumas that affect us all.

So, what are some other causes of PTSD besides war?

Deaths of loved ones.
Divorce: This affects not only all members including the children affected but also all relatives and friends of any family members. Also, sometimes members after this (even years later) will take their lives or other's lives to show the severity of the PTSD caused by the breakup.

War is the one most of us know about.

I could go on but you get the general idea. Traumas that cause PTSD including car accidents can cause permanent psychological or physical damage to people if they don't die outright in the accident as well.

So, understanding what a person is going through and what they have experienced is very important to not only that person's survival long term but potentially to the survival of all family and friends and acquaintances of whoever experienced the trauma.
