Oregon man shouted racial slurs, told resident that black people ‘get hung in these parts’
Rodney Blomberg, 45, attached the flag to a Polaris off-road vehicle and showed up as part of a group of four men in two cars in a suburban area outside Eugene, according to charging documents obtained last week by The Register-Guard.
Blomberg walked up to the man around 10 p.m. on June 27 shouting racial slurs and telling the man, “You need to leave,” Lane County sheriff’s deputies said. The group left without any further threats or violence.
Yet the victim, who describes himself as half-black, told investigators he no longer feels safe living in the area west of Creswell.

Rodney Blomberg, 45, faces second-degree intimidation charges.
(Police Photo)Blomberg paid a $2,000 bail and was released ahead of his next scheduled court appearance Aug. 15. His prior record includes charges of a felon in possession of a weapon and convictions for third-degree rape, according to county records cited by the Register-Guard.
