What is happening now in America in some ways reminds me of a book called "Ecotopia" published in 1975 where a segment of the west coast of America separates itself as an Ecological Country from the rest of the U.S. The demonstrations and CALEXIT remind me of this book a lot.
Will California, Oregon, Washington and the West Coast of Canada form an Ecotopia for real?
That's really hard to say but I think this is unlikely. However, fears of retribution on Blacks being killed by Trumps government, Hispanic families being torn apart and separated and thrown across borders, Gay people being killed by a Trump Government etc. are all very real fears that make one think of how people were killed and disappeared in the 1950s and 1960s.
Even the movie "Easy Rider" is how long hairs were often killed in the south and buried in someone's back yard or out in the forest never to be seen again.

So, Ecotopia is one solution to the coming many murders of the Trump administration of Blacks, Hispanics, Gay people, and anyone with a physical disability or the murders of people now on Obamacare who will die without it.
Trump promises "NO protection at all of Blacks, Women, Hispanics, Muslims or any minority in America. The only people he promises to protect are White Men and that's all.This is why White Nationalists and KKK are having parades in the U.S. to celebrate.
Just to help you be more REAL about all this I was in a public high school in Los Angeles from 1963
to 1965. There were football players even then in California going to my high school who for fun on Friday and Saturday nights went out with baseball bats to maim and kill gay men and black men on the streets for fun at night. Though I considered this "sickening" at the time and still do this still happened without people being punished for doing this in the early 1960s.
Trump promises a return to this kind of behavior all over America. So, we are looking at a return to 1955 to 1965 even here in California in the U.S. with Trump. This is why people are protesting before thousands and thousands of people die from discrimination from White men nationwide who are white nationalists.
